I have been a yoga student of Julie‘s for over eight years. Over that period of time I have grown to love and appreciate the varied modalities that she brings to her classes. Julie is very aware of the special needs of our students. This is much appreciated by those students who have considerable life experience, but may have a variety of physical challenges. At the same time, no matter what the age or ability of students, Julie is quick to offer alternatives and variations of postures that meet the needs of everyone attending. That’s not easy to do when you have an open class where new students often attend. I particularly love the restorative yoga class that incorporates breath work with Julie‘s soft spoken direction. Baby and Me Yoga was a total gift for my newborn and I. Julie you are an amazing teacher. You held space for us mamas and babes – making everyone feel welcome and cared for during a time that can be overwhelming, especially as a first time parent. I loved that there was a blend of moves to heal our postpartum bodies; restorative poses and opportunities to strengthen our pelvic floor. There were also great opportunities for movement and connection with our babies. I have continued to use these exercises with my little one at home and he loves it. I feel like it’s really enhanced his physical development. Not only was the yoga itself helpful, but we formed a sense of community as fellow parents. Often times someone would be breastfeeding or soothing a baby throughout the class, there was no judgement – only love and support.
